Anna Gunn
Anna Gunn was born in the United States. She is best known for her role as Skyler White on the AMC drama series Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Alongside her roles as Martha Bullock and Jean Ward She has also appeared on The Practice. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell into acting preparation for her first job before moving her family from New Mexico to Ohio. She was a theatre student at Northwestern University and spent a semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her professional career as a Chicago-based theatre actor for a few years. Then she moved to film and television. Anna's first major role was Arden, in Down the Shore. She made an appearance in 29 episodes. In the early 90s she performed as a regular guest in TV and film including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue. In the mid 2000's she was placed in Deadwood for the part of Martha Bullock for two full seasons. In 2008, she was cast as Skyler for the show Breaking Bad. Sully is the Deadwood film as well as other films have also featured her. Gunn has also been seen on the stage for David Schwimmer's show Sex With Strangers. The actress played a role in the four-part podcast audio drama Numbered days that premiered in 2022. The relationship with Walter White and his wife Skyler tends to be the central theme of the tale of Breaking Bad with the strained attraction between the couple as well as its eventual collapse mirroring the same arc of Walter White's last years of life.
