Mischa Barton

Barton has been in the theater, film and television. Barton is a British-American. Slavs, Tony Kushner's play in the New York's Lincoln Center was her first production in a theater. She was also the lead part of James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. Her acting debut was an appearance in 1996 as a guest on All My Children. In the Nickelodeon animated series KaBlam!, she also recorded a voice for one of the characters. It was on television in 1996 through 1997. She was in 1997 the lead role from 1996 to 1997 in Lawn Dogs alongside Sam Rockwell. This was her first big acting role. She made notable film appearances in films such as M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller The Sixth Sense (1999) as well as the Romantic comedy Notting Hill (1999). In 1999, she starred as a character in the crime-thriller by an independent company called Pups. After that, Barton acted as Evan Rachel Wood's partner in ABC's Once and Again (2001) and the independent show Lost and Delirious (2001). In her performance as Marissa Cooper on the Fox TV show The O.C. in 2003-2006 her performance was recognized with two Teen Choice Awards. Barton has been named the "It girl from 2003" by Entertainment Weekly because she played the role. Since then, Barton has acted in the drama Closing the Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough, as well as in the comedy St Trinian's and Assassination of a High School President.
