Patina Miller

Patina Patina PatinaMiller was the lead character in Stephen Schwartz's 1972 Broadway musical "Pippin". "Pippin" was created by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" in addition to starred Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the others in the cast. Patina was able to put a modern version of a role that was created by the award-winning actor Ben Vereen. She also mastered the Fosse movements that the show depends so heavily upon. Patina received an Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress playing leading Role in a Musical as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical along with Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the role. From December 2012 until the beginning of January 2013 she played the lead role in American Repertory Theater's production Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
